WHAT WE DO

We offer evidence-based solutions in response to identified needs of music students, music instructors and music administrators. We are dedicated to creating a healthy culture and promoting positive habits, through our applied initiatives. We embed performance science in music instruction, offer sessions in the Performance Simulator and develop wellness initiatives, empowering students to take control of their own learning and artistic journey.

Applied Initiatives

We pride ourselves on creating and leading applied research projects that are musician-centered and context-relevant. Our team is dedicated to developing real-world understanding and solutions within the music education and performance contexts. Our research is inspired by implementation science and action-research, prioritizing co-construction of knowledge and knowledge application studies.

Applied Research

At the Schulich School of Music, we offer a B.Mus. Minor and a Ph.D. in Applied Performance Sciences, and a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels related to performance optimization, music psychology, research methodologies, voice pedagogy and health, the performing body and prevention of injuries, emotion regulation, and more!
